Essential Oils and Yoga

The use of essential oils in yoga practice dates back thousands of years and originated in India with sandalwood and vetiver.

When combined with Zen Ki Yoga©, essential oils can elevate one’s practise and healing to a much higher level than just the yoga alone.

Each class begins with the offering of an essential oil to be applied topically to open the lungs and facilitate deeper breathing. If the yoga class is conducted indoors, diffusers are used throughout the class to allow for the beautiful aromatic benefits to permeate each breathe and posture. At the conclusion of the class, a choice of oils is offered to complement the season and specific meridians we have been working with.
